The intricate barrel design is the first thing that catches your eye. In ancient Asian cultures, a person’s house was not just a place of residence; the architectural design of homes often represented the person’s personal taste, status and wealth.
Similarly to the meticulously crafted window latticework of ancient Asian culture, this piece of art employs a design reminiscent of the popular patterns used in traditional Asian architecture.
The barrel is crafted from silver and coated with precious rose gold. The nib is made from finely crafted 18-carat gold and the body houses Visconti’s high vacuum power filler: from the top of the barrel unscrew the blind cap and withdraw the plunger; submerge the nib fully into the ink; press the plunger back down and count to ten; remove from the ink and screw the blind cap back down; blot the nib with tissue to remove excess ink.
